'Glee' Christmas Episode Guest Star: Chewbacca?!

'Glee' Christmas Episode Guest Star: Chewbacca?! When "Glee" stars Chris Colfer, Mark Salling and Harry Shum Jr. started tweeting photos of themselves on the "Glee" set with Chewbacca, the general reaction from fans was "wtf?"

Thankfully, a recent interview with Matthew Morrison has answered what, exactly, the f was up with those pictures. You see, Morrison is directing this year's Christmas episode of "Glee," and he confirmed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that Chewbacca will be a guest star in the episode.

How exactly the wookiee will fit into the "Glee"-verse is yet to be seen, but it has something to do with a Chrismas special within the Christmas special.

Apparently "Glee" will be referencing Christmas specials of old, including the one from Judy Garland and the truly awful "Star Wars" Christmas special, which focused on the wookiees and featured the horrified-looking original cast of the movies.

Sadly, Morrison also noted that Chewie's appearance in the show is not part of a musical number. Damn! I was really hoping we could hear him growl through "Baby It's Cold Outside" with Brittany.

Here's the first five minutes of the 1978 "Star Wars Holiday Special," in case you've never seen it in its full awkwardness:
